NOMEN Architects came together in 2012 on the pedestrian street of Iktinou, after years of individual professional experience. Their philosophy of architecture focuses on everyday life — on meeting needs and making the most of possibilities. This is the driving force behind their daily routine. For NOMEN, every project is a unique challenge where past experience is combined with new ideas to create tailored solutions, perfectly fitted to each case.
Nadia Stamou and Katerina Inepologlou both studied at the School of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), and pursued postgraduate studies at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IaaC) in Barcelona. They are members of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE). Their work spans a wide range — from the architectural design of an object or system to that of a building or complex of buildings, as well as urban design. In their daily practice, digital tools play a key role — both in design and representation, as well as in communication. These tools extend the reach of their work beyond local and national boundaries. Their projects have been recognized, awarded, and published by distinguished institutions and organizations in Greece and abroad.
The small balcony of the listed building on Iktinou Street, where their office is located, serves as both a symbolic and physical connection to the pedestrian street and the urban life of Thessaloniki. The everyday scenes of passersby, children playing, and dogs basking in the sun keep NOMEN full of zest for life, offering them a constant source of inspiration and energy.
