The Port of Thessaloniki is a place closely intertwined with the long history and development of the city. Its history dates back to the founding of Thessaloniki and saw significant growth during the Roman Empire and Byzantine periods due to its strategic location. The modern history of the port began in the last decade of the 19th century with the extension of the quay into the sea and the construction of today’s Pier A, which is also the starting point of our spatial and historical tour. The route follows along the buildings of Pier A and the quay between Piers A and B.

The tours are conducted outside the buildings.
