CHRISTINA MICHALOPOULOU
MADE IN THESSALONIKI
Christina Michalopoulou is a visual artist, mother, and entrepreneur who lives and works in Thessaloniki. Her work as a painter explores the interaction between bodies and volumes in a continuous dialogue. Starting out with an obsessive photorealism, in recent years she has turned toward contemporary abstraction—minimalist compositions where fragments of bodies, wings, limbs, and curves collide, touch, fall in love, and reject one another, forming anthropomorphic totems and labyrinthine spirals.
Throughout her career, she has presented solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group shows both in Greece and abroad—in Europe, the USA, and Canada—earning awards and distinctions for her work (XIII Florence Biennale, “Outstanding Woman Artist Achievement Award” – Manhattan Arts International, NY, British Royal Art Prize Award nominee, among others). Her artworks are found in private collections and interiors, 5-star hotels, and small luxury resorts. Her space at 14 Dialetti Street serves as a sanctuary, studio, gallery, and an occasion for celebration.
