The first online festival of OPEN HOUSE Thessaloniki took place on November 28th & 29th, 2020, with great success and participation from people all around the world! It was a different event this year, adapted to the new reality, but still carrying the essence and excitement of OPEN HOUSE Thessaloniki!
The virtual event included 7 online tours of modern architectural buildings and a live stream on YouTube with discussions and presentations about the long history and architecture of Thessaloniki. Our invited speakers explored the themes of the Open Walks routes, which will be held once cultural events are allowed again, revealing the various layers of the city’s history and architecture. The event also showcased Thessaloniki’s participation in the 1st Open House Worldwide Festival and introduced the global network of Open House. Finally, the event was accompanied by the enthusiastic spirit of our volunteers, who moved us with their stories about their experience with OHT, while the audience watching had the opportunity to participate in the discussions through the live chat on YouTube. It should be noted that the videos will remain available on our YouTube channel.
The response from the audience was touching, as within just 48 hours, there were 40,000 views! We thank you for your love and enthusiasm! We hope to return as soon as possible with the Open Walks that we organize, as well as our regular competitions. Until then, let’s stay safe and optimistic!
