In the context of this year’s OHΤ 2024 theme—Accessibility and Inclusion— artist Alexandros Kapetanou presents his exploration of the concept of prohibition, inspired by the red-and-white marking tape commonly used in urban spaces. He collects this tape from the urban environment and repurposes it. Through 118,188 handmade knots, this familiar material is transformed into visual forms that mock and subvert the symbolism of prohibition. The work highlights how symbols of exclusion can be reinterpreted, inviting the viewer to reflect on boundaries and the human experience.

The exhibition, supported by the City of Thessaloniki, will be hosted at Sfageia on the weekend of November 23 & 24. It will be open to the public during Open House Thessaloniki tours, 11:00-15:00.
